 The 62-foot yacht Magic miles

Magic Miles is a Dynamique 62, 34-ton GRP-hulled, classic sloop rigged sailing yacht, built in 1985 by designer Philippe Briand. Briand is famous for the Beneteau and Jenneau range of yachts. On delivery as the sailing vessel, she was named Porneaux and she transited from the Mediterranean to Caribbean waters, where she sailed for many years. Magic Miles is 17.85m in length with a 5.0m beam and 2.24m draft.

Founded in 1980 by the Jeanneau Family, who had already achieved great success with Jeanneau and Gib’Sea shipyards; the Dynamique Shipyard based in Andilly (Southern France) was one of the main Maxi Cruiser builders in the world. In its first 10 years in business, the shipyard produced more than 150 luxury sailboats of up to 110 feet in length. The shipyard was purchased by the Dufour brand.

She was purchased by Drew Murray, of the famous ‘Murray Wines and Spirits’ family where she underwent an extensive refit in 2008 and was relaunched as Magic Miles. She went into commercial survey in Queensland with AMSA under Class 2B, spending most of her time around the Great Barrier Reef, undertaking luxury charters.

Michael Crew purchased her from Drew Murray in 2011 and has been operating Magic Miles under Hobart Yachts and he has upgraded Magic Miles extensively along the way.

Magic Miles hosts 11 crew onboard in 5 cabins, with 4 bathrooms. Magic Miles is fully appointed for long ocean passages in luxury, carrying 600 litres of water and 1,640 litres of fuel. Her galley boasts a dishwasher, ice maker, microwave, air fryer, gas oven, gas cook top, fridge and freezer. She also has a washing machine and dryer. The engine room houses a 12Kva Westerbeak generator and 160Hp Volvo Penta engine.

Magic Miles was designed to explore the planet in luxury. This gorgeous French yacht is at ease in the offshore conditions of Australian Waters and loves to stretch her legs as the breeze builds. Whether its on the race track or tucked into a Southern Tasmanian anchorage, she is an all rounder that provides speed, comfort and space for all onboard.

The 11 berth layout is fairly spacious due to the beamy design of the hull. With ample built in furniture, stowing your gear while onboard is easy and the well lit cabins, provide an alternative space to relax at sea or at anchor.
